Roman Provincial, Phrygia, Cidyessus, AE26, c. 244-9 AD, Demos (representation of the people), diademed and draped right/Cybele enthroned left, between two lions, holding patera. 27 mm, 4.94 g.

VF, attractive brown patina, edge chipped (?). Of the highest rarity, perhaps the only example available to commerce.

von Aulock Phrygien I, 511 (referencing a coin in the Berlin Museum).

The coin in Berlin also appears to be chipped; it is possible that these flan defects are actually just due to poor preparation of the flans rather than being damage.
