Greek, Lydia, Ifes (Ates), usurper, AR hemiobol c. 450-400 BC, head left/grain of wheat. 7 mm, 0.40 g.

This issue is enigmatic; the legend on the reverse in Lydian script reads "of Ifes" (another similar coin reads atel); the attribution is uncertain but plausibly Ifes was an usurper in Lydia, asserting autonomy against Achaemenid Persia.

about VF, deposit, roughness. Very rare.
