Greek, Alexander III "the Great", AR tetradrachm, of Babylon, circa 331-322 BC, naming Mazakes as satrap of Mesopotamia, Athena/Owl. 25 mm, 16.13 g.
In the Persian-dominated East, tetradrachms copying those of Athens were common currency in the 4th century BC, and after Alexander's invasion, such coins were struck under Mazakes, Alexander's governor in Mesopotamia.
