British tokens, London, Bucklersbury, Old Barge House, Jane Gunn, farthing token 1666

The reference to the Old Barge House was presumed by Boyne (and Williamson) to refer to the area of Bucklersbury, where a house of great antiquity, known as the "Barge" stood. 

It is also possible that it refers to what was once Henry VIII's Barge House across the river on the Southbank, which would make this a Southwark token rather than a London one. However, all the other tokens for that locality read "The King's Old Barge House" or similar. 

Fine or better, creased and straightened, deposit, chipped. Very rare.
