Due to a lack of official production after 1775, the copper coinage of George III was widely counterfeited from the late 1770s to the 1790s. Such counterfeits were common in circulation in the American colonies, as well as in the early USA.
EF or better, glossy surfaces, trace lustre. Rare in this condition as a contemporary counterfeit.
