World, Germany, Remagen, St. Apollinaris church, AE medal by Wiener, c. 1853

From the series of the "Medals of the Most Remarkable Edifices of Europe"; Wiener planned to produce fifty such medals, but only 41 designs were completed. The work is much celebrated, especially the precise details of the interior and the perfectly executed perspective. 

The church was built between 1837-52 in the neo-gothic style.
