Roman Imperial, Tiberius, AR denarius, Lugdunum, c. 18-35 AD, Livia seated left, as Pax. 18 mm, 3.82g.

It is traditional to identify this issue with the coin held by Christ in Mark 12, because Tiberius was the reigning Caesar, and all other denarii of his reign are far rarer.

EF, light hoard patina, lustrous.

Ghey 394.50 (this coin); RIC I 30

From the Helmingham (Suffolk) hoard, found September 2019. PAS ID: SF-8C645E, 623.
